A Laundry Attendant (Male/Female) is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper care of clothing, linens, and other textile items in various settings such as hotels, healthcare facilities, laundromats, or industrial environments. Below is a detailed breakdown of the responsibilities, skills, and qualifications typically required for this role

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold clothing and other textiles.
• Remove stains using appropriate cleaning techniques.
• Perform minor sewing or mending tasks as needed.
• Maintain an updated inventory of laundry supplies like detergents and sewing kits.
• Monitor and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
• Keep the laundry area clean and organized at all times.
• Assist customers with inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
• Track and label items to ensure they are returned to their rightful owner.
• Prepare items for delivery or pickup by wrapping or packaging them appropriately.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role is preferred but not always required.
• Familiarity with cleaning detergents, segregation of clothes, stain removal techniques, and laundering equipment.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift loads up to 20 pounds unaided.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail to ensure proper care of delicate fabrics and accurate tracking of items.

Additional Requirements

• 10th grade or High school diploma or equivalent is often preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to cleaning chemicals and equipment operation.
