Job Title: Purchasing Officer – Production

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, equipment, and services required for efficient production operations. This role ensures timely procurement at the best possible price without compromising quality and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Source and purchase raw materials, tools, and production supplies in line with production requirements.

Evaluate and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.

Collaborate with production planners and inventory control to forecast demand and manage stock levels.

Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure on-time fulfillment.

Maintain and update procurement records, supplier databases, and contracts.

Monitor supplier performance and resolve any supply-related issues or discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and legal regulations.

Identify and implement cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.

Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred Supply Chain Management

2+ years of experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

Knowledge of supply chain procedures, procurement best practices, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SAGE).

Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPM) is a plus.

Experience working with technical specifications and industrial suppliers.
