We are looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, including strong exposure to mechanical systems in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. The candidate must hold a valid UPDA certificate approved by the Urban Planning and Development Authority. The role includes overseeing mechanical design, installation, testing, commissioning, and compliance with local and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical design, engineering review, and execution for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems.
• Ensure that all designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Prepare BOQs, technical submittals, and shop drawings; review and approve submittals from contractors.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, electrical and civil teams for system integration.
• Conduct regular site inspections and supervise mechanical installations and commissioning activities.
• Liaise with local authorities (e.g., QCDD, Kahramaa) for necessary approvals and inspections.
• Resolve design discrepancies, technical queries, and construction issues efficiently.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies.
• Assist in procurement by evaluating vendor offers and specifications.
• Prepare reports, progress updates, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with exposure to projects in Qatar.
• Valid UPDA/MME certification – mandatory.
• Proven expertise in HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, and mechanical systems design and execution.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP, Revit MEP, and other relevant design and simulation software.
• Strong leadership, project coordination, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).
• Experience working with government/semi-government projects.
• PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
