Presales Engineer / Inside Sales Engineer


Job Description

The Presales Engineer / Inside Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise to support the sales team in identifying and delivering suitable solutions to customers. This role bridges the gap between customer requirements and product/service offerings by preparing proposals, conducting product demonstrations, and supporting technical queries.


Key Responsibilities:


Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products, systems, or services.


Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals, tenders, and quotations.


Review project specifications and requirements, ensuring compliance and suitability.


Collaborate with the sales team to strategize and deliver effective sales presentations.


Provide product and technical support to clients during the presales process.


Communicate with suppliers/OEMs for technical clarifications and pricing.


Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of company products, technologies, and industry trends.


Support marketing initiatives with technical content, product literature, and documentation.


Track and follow up on sales leads and maintain a database of client interactions.


Assist in bid/no-bid decisions by analyzing technical feasibility and margins.


Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or equivalent).


2+ years of experience in a similar presales or technical sales support role.


Strong understanding of [Instrumentation / Electrical / Renewable Energy / HVAC or related] products and solutions.


Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools, and technical drawing or configuration software (AutoCAD, EPlan, etc. preferred).


Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.


Preferred:

 


Experience in industrial sectors like Oil & Gas, Energy, or Utilities.


Knowledge of hazardous area equipment (ATEX, IECEx) is an advantage.


Familiarity with ISO processes and project-based sales.
