Private Office Associate
Discreet | Highly Numerate | Problem Solver | Proactive Operator
We are seeking a capable and versatile individual to join a small private office supporting the needs of an international family. The role involves a mix of administrative, financial, and operational tasks, requiring someone who is highly organised, numerate, and exceptionally proficient in Excel.
This is not a traditional corporate role. It suits someone who enjoys variety, solves problems independently, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly across multiple areas—whether that’s reconciling investment records, managing vendors, or preparing clear documents. A very strong command of Excel is essential, including building and maintaining complex formulas and structured financial logic.
What you’ll do
? Liaise with banks and brokers
? Help reconcile accounts and track investments
? Oversee contractors for property maintenance
? Keep digital and physical files orderly
? Build and maintain spreadsheets using advanced Excel functions and financial logic
? Research and resolve issues online quickly and thoroughly—regulations, comparisons, services, suppliers
? Use AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini) to summarise documents, improve workflows, and create draft outputs
? Help prepare summaries, comparisons, and professional correspondence
? Support occasional personal or logistical matters for the principal
What we’re looking for
? Excellent command of English – clear, precise, and confident in both written and spoken communication
? Proactive and anticipatory – able to identify needs before they’re expressed and take initiative without prompting; this mindset is essential in the role.
? Exceptional Excel skills – advanced formulas, structured models, and a deep understanding of financial logic
? Very strong numeracy – comfortable reconciling accounts and understanding financial data
? Tech literate – familiar with cloud-based systems, AI tools, and efficient digital organisation
? Self-sufficient – able to work independently, solve problems, and follow through
? Trustworthy and discreet – mature handling of confidential information
? Clear written communication – concise, accurate, and professional
Desirable, but Not Essential
? Arabic language skills
? Background in finance or accounting
? Analyst-level experience (buy side, sell side, consulting, etc.)
? Experience with coding (e.g. Python, Excel VBA, SQL, or similar)
? Exposure to investment administration, reconciliations
Practicalities
? Based in Qatar, with a valid driving licence
? Full-time position
? Compensation is competitive and aligned with experience
