The Storekeeper Assistant supports the Storekeeper in managing daily warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, handling, and distribution of materials. The role involves receiving, inspecting, organizing, and issuing inventory while maintaining accurate records and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in receiving, unloading, and checking incoming materials or products.
Verify quantities and quality of items received against delivery notes and purchase orders.
Organize and label inventory in designated storage areas for easy identification and access.
Support the Storekeeper in issuing materials to departments as per requisition forms.
Update stock records and inventory systems accurately and on time.
Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies to the Storekeeper.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse at all times.
Ensure proper storage methods to prevent damage or loss of materials.
Assist in preparing materials for dispatch or delivery when required.
Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or damaged items immediately.
Desired Skills & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in warehouse or storekeeping roles is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of inventory management systems.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift and move moderately heavy items.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic computer skills (Excel, warehouse software preferred).
