TEACHING ASSISTANT – SCIENCE LABS (Spring 2026)

Job Overview:
A-State University Qatar, in partnership with the Global Studies Institute (GSI), is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support undergraduate laboratory sessions for Biological Science Lab (BIOL 1001) and General Chemistry I Lab (CHEM 1011) during the Spring 2026 term. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong laboratory knowledge, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to effectively support both faculty and students in a hands-on learning environment.
Lab Schedule:
- Biological Science Lab (BIOL 1001)
Tuesday | 3:00 PM – 4:50 PM
- General Chemistry I Lab (CHEM 1011)
Thursday | 2:00 PM – 4:50 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist faculty during scheduled laboratory sessions
- Prepare laboratory materials, equipment, and reagents in advance
- Support students with laboratory procedures and experimental techniques
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety policies and institutional guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab spaces
- Assist with basic documentation, attendance, and lab-related records
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master's in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science field
- Prior laboratory or teaching assistant experience (preferred)
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety and procedures
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to commit to the assigned lab schedule
