We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to manage project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting activities. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6, baseline schedules, resource loading, critical path analysis, delay analysis, and earned value management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare and maintain approved baseline schedules in accordance with project requirements.
- Develop resource-loaded schedules and monitor resource utilization.
- Perform critical path analysis and identify activities that may impact project completion.
- Monitor actual project progress against approved baseline schedules.
- Analyze project delays, identify causes, and assess their impact on project completion.
- Prepare recovery and mitigation plans for delayed activities.
- Collect and verify progress information from engineering, procurement, construction, and other project teams.
- Prepare accurate weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Monitor project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
- Track planned value, earned value, actual progress, and schedule performance.
- Prepare progress curves, look-ahead schedules, dashboards, and other planning reports.
- Highlight schedule risks, delays, and potential impacts to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely updates and accurate progress measurement.
- Support project management with schedule analysis, forecasting, and recovery planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
- Proven experience preparing and managing baseline schedules.
- Experience in resource loading and resource planning.
- Strong knowledge of critical path analysis.
- Experience in delay analysis and schedule impact assessment.
- Experience preparing weekly and monthly project progress reports.
- Good understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Strong analytical, reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of project planning and scheduling principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Preferred
- GCC/Qatar project experience.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, EPC, or engineering projects.
- Experience working on large-scale projects with multiple disciplines.
- Candidates currently available in Qatar will be preferred.
