We are looking for an experienced Site Electrical Engineer to oversee and coordinate electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities for power transmission and substation projects. The ideal candidate should have strong site experience in GIS installation, power transformers, switchgear, control and protection systems, cable installation, testing coordination, method statements, and ITPs.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical installation activities at project sites.
• Manage and monitor GIS installation activities in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Supervise installation of power transformers, switchgear, and associated electrical equipment.
• Coordinate installation of control and protection systems.
• Supervise and monitor power, control, and protection cable installation, termination, and testing.
• Coordinate electrical testing and commissioning activities with testing and commissioning teams.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, approved materials, and technical documents before site execution.
• Prepare, review, and implement method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Coordinate inspections with the client, consultant, and relevant project teams.
• Ensure electrical installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
• Monitor site progress and coordinate with civil, mechanical, commissioning, and other disciplines.
• Identify technical issues and coordinate their timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, site activities, and project documentation.
• Support the Project Manager and Site Manager in achieving project milestones.
• Ensure all electrical works are completed safely, efficiently, and within the approved schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in electrical installation and site engineering.
• Proven experience in GIS installation for high-voltage substation projects.
• Strong experience with power transformer and switchgear installation.
• Experience with control and protection systems.
• Hands-on experience in power, control, and protection cable installation.
• Experience coordinating electrical testing and commissioning activities.
• Strong knowledge of method statements and ITP preparation/review.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Good knowledge of electrical installation, inspection, testing, and quality requirements.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred

• GCC/Qatar experience in power transmission or substation projects.
• Experience with 132kV/220kV GIS substations.
• Experience working on EPC projects.
• Knowledge of KAHRAMAA standards and requirements.
• Candidates currently available in Qatar will be preferred.
