Career Opportunity – HVAC Draftsman & Estimator
Location: NAFFCO Qatar
The HVAC Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed HVAC shop drawings, coordination drawings, as-built drawings, and technical documentation based on project specifications, engineering designs, and applicable standards. The role involves close coordination with HVAC engineers, project managers, architects, and other MEP disciplines to ensure accurate and timely delivery of drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare HVAC shop drawings, installation drawings, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting software.
- Develop ductwork layouts, piping layouts, equipment schedules, and HVAC system details.
- Review contract drawings, specifications, and design documents.
- Coordinate HVAC drawings with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection services.
- Produce coordinated MEP drawings and clash-free layouts.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on site modifications and project completion requirements.
- Generate duct and piping sections, elevations, and detailed installation drawings.
- Maintain drawing registers and revision records.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes, and industry standards.
- Assist engineers in quantity take-offs and material estimation.
- Support project teams during design development and construction phases.
- Incorporate comments from consultants, clients, and engineers into revised drawings.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in HVAC drafting and MEP projects.
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems including chilled water, VRF/VRV, ventilation, smoke extraction, and air distribution systems.
