The Data officers are responsible for understanding the context of operations they are assigned to, and to collect and report data as per provided guidelines and procedures, on provided software & hardware tools
Data officers are assigned to specific locations to report on specific operations, and can be rotated from a location to another as scheduled by the Operations Supervisors. They need to be able to be at specified locations at the shifts specified
Data officers report to Operations supervisor
Work shifts may be during the night, early morning or week-ends, and some of them are only part time
Key responsibilities
Understand, train on and become proficient in the use of software & hardware systems dedicated for data capture & reporting
Communicate with assigned operation's stakeholders (auctioneers, farmers, fishermen…etc)
Take accurate measurements using visual inspection (counting…etc) & provided tools (scales, grades…etc) in order to report them on the system
Report any issues and remarks on stakeholder behaviours towards the data collection activity to Support team immediately as they arise
Provide suggestions on how to structure, automate and improve Data collection & reporting activity & systems continuously
Additional Skills
Have data entry experience, essential.
Knowledge of using computer application/ IT literate.
Bachelor's degree/ diploma.
English speaker, preferable but not mandatory (Arabic, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam).
Have knowledge in fishery process, preferred.
