1. Job Summary

The Electrical Tray Fitter is responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining cable tray and cable ladder systems for electrical installations in oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial projects. The candidate must be capable of reading technical drawings, following project specifications, and ensuring all work complies with quality and safety standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

Install, assemble, and support electrical cable trays, cable ladders, and trunking systems as per approved drawings and specifications.

Read and interpret electrical layout drawings, cable tray routing plans, and installation details.

Measure, mark, cut, bend, and fabricate cable trays according to site requirements.

Install tray supports, brackets, clamps, hangers, and other associated accessories.

Perform cable tray alignment, leveling, and fixing to ensure proper installation.

Coordinate with electrical technicians, electricians, instrument technicians, and other site personnel.

Ensure proper separation of power, control, and instrumentation cable trays as per project specifications.

Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.

Inspect completed installations and rectify defects as instructed by supervisors.

Follow approved work procedures, permit-to-work (PTW) requirements, and site safety regulations.

Maintain good housekeeping and comply with PPE requirements and applicable Life-Saving Rules (LSR).

Assist with cable pulling and other electrical installation activities when required.

3. Qualifications and Experience

ITI, vocational training, or relevant technical certification in Electrical or a related field is preferred.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical tray fitting or installation works.

Previous experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Industrial sectors is preferred.

Experience working on onshore or offshore projects will be an advantage.

Ability to read and understand cable tray layout drawings and installation specifications.

Practical knowledge of cable trays, cable ladders, supports, fittings, and installation tools.

4. Required Skills

Good knowledge of electrical cable tray installation techniques.

Ability to use measuring instruments, cutting tools, drilling machines, and other installation equipment.

Understanding of site safety procedures and electrical installation standards.

Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

Physically fit to perform site installation activities and work at heights when required.

Strong commitment to quality, safety, and timely completion of work.

5. Work Environment

Location: Qatar / Oil & Gas Project Sites

Industry: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, and Industrial Construction

Work Type: Site-based installation and maintenance

Safety Requirements: Mandatory PPE, PTW compliance, and adherence to project HSE procedures.

6. Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with hands-on experience in electrical cable tray installation, cable ladder fitting, tray support fabrication, and industrial electrical projects are encouraged to apply. Prior Oil & Gas project experience and familiarity with international project standards will be an advantage.
