We are looking for a qualified and experienced Assistant Accounts Manager with a strong background in the retail and luxury goods industry, preferably in watches, jewellery, fashion, premium accessories, or other high-end products. The successful candidate will assist in managing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, inventory control, budgeting, and internal financial procedures while ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Accounts Manager in overseeing daily accounting operations and financial activities.

Supervise and review general ledger entries, journal vouchers, and account reconciliations.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

Monitor accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), supplier payments, and customer collections.

Reconcile daily sales reports from retail outlets with POS systems, bank statements, and payment gateway records.

Oversee inventory accounting, stock valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory adjustments.

Coordinate with retail stores and inventory teams to investigate stock discrepancies and ensure accurate stock records.

Monitor sales, margins, operating expenses, and profitability across multiple retail outlets.

Review purchase invoices, credit notes, supplier statements, payment vouchers, and other financial documents.

Assist with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, financial planning, and variance analysis.

Monitor petty cash, cash deposits, credit card settlements, and inter-branch transactions.

Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely submission of financial reports.

Assist with internal and external audits and ensure proper maintenance of financial documentation.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, Qatar tax regulations, and company financial policies.

Support the implementation and improvement of accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting systems.

Supervise and guide accounting staff, review their work, and ensure accuracy and timely completion of assigned tasks.

Coordinate with procurement, sales, warehouse, and retail operations teams to maintain effective financial controls.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably with experience in a supervisory or team coordination role.

Previous experience in retail or the luxury goods segment is mandatory.

Experience in watches, jewellery, fashion, premium accessories, or other high-end retail products is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, POS reconciliation, and retail financial reporting.

Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Proficiency in MS Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems.

Experience in Qatar or the GCC region is an advantage.

Strong analytical, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet financial reporting deadlines.

Experience handling accounting operations for multiple retail outlets.

Strong understanding of retail sales performance, gross margins, inventory movement, and stock control.
