We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in the retail or luxury industry, preferably in watches, jewellery, fashion, premium accessories, or other high-end products. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting, inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end closing activities while ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

Handle accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), supplier payments, and customer collections.

Monitor sales transactions across retail outlets and reconcile POS (Point of Sale) reports with accounting records.

Manage inventory accounting, stock valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory adjustments.

Perform regular stock reconciliations and investigate discrepancies between physical stock and system records.

Reconcile sales, cash, credit card transactions, online sales, and other payment channels.

Monitor store expenses, petty cash, bank transactions, and inter-branch accounts.

Coordinate with store managers and inventory teams to ensure accurate sales and stock reporting.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial performance analysis.

Manage month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely submission of financial reports.

Review invoices, credit notes, purchase orders, and supporting financial documents.

Coordinate with external auditors and provide the required financial schedules and documentation.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, Qatar tax regulations, and internal financial controls.

Identify accounting discrepancies, recommend process improvements, and support the Finance Manager in financial planning.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the retail or luxury goods industry.

Previous experience in watches, jewellery, fashion, premium accessories, or high-end retail is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, stock valuation, sales reconciliation, and cost of goods sold.

Hands-on experience with POS systems, ERP systems, and accounting software.

Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting.

Experience in Qatar or the GCC region is an advantage.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with multiple retail outlets and departments.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with experience in luxury retail, jewellery, watches, or premium product businesses will be given preference.

Experience handling multi-branch retail accounting and inventory reconciliation is an advantage.

Knowledge of Qatar's financial and regulatory requirements is preferred.

Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with retail operations, procurement, and inventory teams.
