We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial management, specifically within the Interior Fitout, Joinery, Exhibitions, or similar sectors. The ideal candidate will have approximately 10 years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record of managing finances in projects of this nature. This is a senior role requiring expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, project costing, and compliance with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local accounting standards and company policies. Provide detailed analysis and insights on financial performance.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met. Provide forecasts and variance analysis to management, ensuring effective cost control across all projects.
• Project Accounting: Oversee project accounting for interior fitout, joinery, and exhibition-related projects, ensuring accurate tracking of costs, revenues, and profitability. Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely invoicing and payment collection.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and oversee the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings.
• Tax Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with Qatar’s tax regulations, including VAT and other local requirements. Prepare and file tax returns, liaising with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
• Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow to ensure the company maintains liquidity while meeting financial obligations. Oversee payment cycles and monitor outstanding receivables.
• Internal Controls & Audit: Implement and review internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Work closely with external auditors during annual audits.
• Team Management: Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing training and guidance to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to procedures.
• Financial Systems & Processes: Maintain and improve financial systems, reporting processes, and workflows, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all financial operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) are a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the Interior Fitout, Joinery, Exhibitions, or similar sectors.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project costing within the construction, fitout, or similar industries.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or industry-specific tools) and Microsoft Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of Qatar’s financial regulations, tax laws (including VAT), and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in managing the accounting function for companies in the Interior Fitout, Joinery, or Exhibitions sectors in Qatar.
• Familiarity with project-based accounting and cost tracking systems.
• Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting in the context of construction or fitout projects.
