The Corridor Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe, orderly, and respectful environment in the school corridors during class changes, breaks, and other transition periods. This role involves maintaining discipline, promoting positive behavior, and assisting students in navigating the hallways responsibly to support a positive school climate. The Corridor Supervisor works closely with teaching staff, school administrators, and students to enforce school policies related to hallway conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Corridor Behavior:
- Oversee students in hallways during transitions between classes, lunch breaks, and other periods when students are in corridors.
- Ensure students move promptly and safely between classes, minimizing disruptions.
- Enforce school rules related to corridor behavior, including noise levels, running, and unauthorized activities.
- Prevent and address incidents of bullying, fighting, or other inappropriate behavior in the hallways.
- Student Guidance & Support:
- Provide gentle reminders and positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior in the corridors.
- Offer assistance to students needing directions, guidance, or help during transition periods.
- Support students with personal issues or conflicts by referring them to appropriate staff when necessary.
- Maintain Safety and Order:
- Ensure that all emergency exits and corridors remain clear of obstructions.
- Monitor the use of hallway equipment and resources (e.g., lockers, bulletin boards, water fountains).
- Respond promptly to any safety concerns or emergencies that arise in the corridors, notifying the appropriate authorities as needed.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Work closely with teachers, school staff, and administrators to maintain consistent discipline standards.
- Report any incidents or violations to the appropriate school staff for further action.
- Provide feedback to the administration on recurring issues or concerns related to corridor discipline.
- Conflict Resolution:
- Mediate conflicts between students and ensure resolutions are in line with school policies.
- Provide a calm and approachable demeanor to help de-escalate tense situations.
- Record Keeping:
- Keep accurate records of behavioral incidents or any disciplinary actions taken in the corridors.
- Monitor and report patterns of student behavior to assist in school-wide interventions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education, psychology, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a school setting, or in a role that involves supervising or managing children or adolescents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to remain calm, fair, and consistent while enforcing school rules.
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management strategies.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and conflicts with patience and professionalism.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position during school hours.

- Some physical activity, including standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Potential for occasional overtime or shift adjustments during special school events or emergencies.
